Artificial Intelligence And Innovations Applied To Public Security And Defense Take Center Stage At The Largest Edition Of COP International

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence and new technologies into public security and defense activities has altered operational dynamics, influenced investments, and expanded collaboration among governments, the industry, and knowledge centers. This advancement also underscores the need to foster closer ties between technology developers, public policy makers, and the professionals who use these tools daily to protect society.

This transformation will be the central theme of COP International 2026, Latin America’s premier event for the integration of Public Security, Defense, Intelligence, and Technology. From August 11 to 13 2026 at the São Paulo Expo, the event will bring together frontline professionals, public administrators, Armed Forces representatives, researchers, experts, and the companies responsible for developing the solutions transforming the sector.

Over the course of the three days, the event expects to welcome more than 20,000 visitors, cementing the growth seen since its inception in 2021. This year’s edition will also feature an expanded physical footprint, growing from 11,000 to 14,000 square meters of exhibition space—which is fully booked—reflecting rising demand from the industry and participating institutions.

More than 80 exhibitors from eight countries will be present this year. The gathering will also host over 20 institutional delegations—including the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the National Public Security Fund, State Public Security Secretariats, Military Police Commanders-General, Civil Police Chiefs, and Intelligence Chiefs—reaffirming COP’s status as a leading Latin American platform for knowledge sharing, technological development, and institutional strengthening across the Public Security, Defense, and Intelligence sectors.

Technology takes center stage in the program

A key highlight is the launch of DTech, a proprietary conference dedicated exclusively to technologies applied to public safety, defense, and government management.

While innovation has always been part of the COP program, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and automation tools has elevated the theme’s prominence. The new content track will delve into discussions on smart cities, cybersecurity, command and control platforms, and applications focused on intelligence generation and operational support.

Operational experience turns knowledge into intelligence

A significant portion of the program was shaped by the firsthand experience of professionals working directly within these agencies. Over the three days, the agenda will feature more than 40 national and international speakers, as well as leaders responsible for formulating and implementing public security policies in Brazil. The presentations will cover case studies, best practices, and experiences related to public safety, defense, intelligence, leadership, management, and innovation.

Confirmed speakers include David Rausch, President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the world’s largest association of police leaders; Dr. Camila Pintarelli, Management Director of the National Public Security Fund (FNSP); Dr. Anchieta Nery, Director of Integrated Operations and Intelligence (DIOPI) at Senasp/MJSP; Dr. Jean Nunes, Secretary of Public Security for Paraíba and President of CONSESP; and Colonel Renato dos Anjos Garnes, General Commander of the Mato Grosso do Sul Military Police and President of CNCG. They join other prominent figures, authorities, experts, and representatives from national and international institutions involved in public policy formulation, strategic management, and the execution of security and defense operations.

Event connects those who research, develop, make decisions, and execute

Few gatherings manage to bring together, in a single venue, the key players driving the evolution of public security in Brazil. Confirmed attendees include delegations and representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the National Public Security Fund, state public security secretariats, Military Police, Civil Police, Federal Police, Federal Highway Police, Penal Police, Municipal Guards, intelligence agencies, and national councils for these forces. Alongside these institutions, manufacturers, technology integrators, and both domestic and international companies will participate, creating a space for ongoing dialogue among the public sector, the industry, and the technical community.

“This connection drives the development of public policies, fosters the sharing of best practices, and helps institutions more efficiently incorporate innovation, intelligence, and operational experience,” says João Sansone, Executive President of COP International.

COMABE expands exchange between industry and force leadership

COMABE is one of the gatherings on the agenda, held in partnership with the National Council of Commanders-General of the Military Police.

The meeting brings together commanders and managers responsible for managing military-grade equipment to discuss topics such as logistics, arms control, procurement processes, management modernization, and the sharing of best practices among the forces. Concurrently, partner companies showcase solutions designed to meet the operational needs of police forces, fostering closer ties between the industry and decision-makers.

Platform boosts innovation, institutional relations, and business generation

COP has also established itself as a key venue for generating business, strengthening strategic partnerships, and showcasing technologies for public security and defense. The previous edition generated over R$ 100 million in direct business—a result driven by direct interaction among manufacturers, technology companies, public sector managers, and leaders from the country’s major security and defense institutions.

For 2026, we expect to amplify this impact through the participation of new exhibitors, an expanded exhibition area, and the simultaneous hosting of DTech and COMABE,

states Sansone.

Launched in 2021, COP International reaches its sixth edition reflecting the transformation the sector is undergoing. Integrating technology with operational activity has become central to addressing contemporary challenges. By connecting this ecosystem, the event has solidified its position as a leading platform for knowledge exchange, institutional cooperation, and the development of solutions aimed at strengthening societal protection across Latin America.

“Over the course of its editions, COP International has become a meeting point for frontline professionals, specialists, managers, and companies developing public security and defense solutions. This collaboration enables the sharing of experiences and broadens the debate on more efficient strategies to support the work of the forces and agencies responsible for protecting the population,” concludes Sansone.

COP International 2026 is headline-sponsored by Flash Engenharia and also sponsored by Black Spirit. The event further enjoys the institutional support of the Ministry of Defense; the Ministry of Justice and Public Security; the National Public Security Fund; DIOPI (Directorate of Integrated Operations and Intelligence); SENASP (National Secretariat of Public Security); the São Paulo State Secretariat of Public Security; the São Paulo State Civil Police; the São Paulo State Military Police; Detran-SP; ABIMDE; SIMDES; Enforce Tac; and iLab—institutions that contribute to strengthening the connections among the Public Security, Defense, Intelligence, and Technology sectors.
